Present Technologies: 20 Anos

24 de Março de 2000, pelas 14h30m, nascia, em Coimbra, a Present Technologies. Cinco fundadores e ambição do tamanho do mundo. Grande dia!

Tem sido uma jornada fantástica, cheia de desafios, algumas adversidades, mas acima de tudo muitas vitórias, conquistas e crescimento sustentado: Projectos desafiantes, para diferentes geografias ao nível global, e todos implementados como se fossem o projecto mais importante do  mundo – que o são! Foram criadas muitas amizades que perduram ao longo do tempo e que são a base das muitas parcerias que orgulhosamente mantemos. 

Amanhã, 24 de Março de 2020, festejaremos o nosso vigésimo aniversário. Um marco importante e para o qual tínhamos planeado um evento por forma a agradecer a todos aqueles que ajudaram a fazer da Present Technologies aquilo que somos hoje: Uma empresa de referência, confiável e que se importa com todos os stakeholders, desde os nossos colaboradores, aos nossos clientes/parceiros e aos utilizadores finais das soluções que desenvolvemos. We are Present because we care!

Nas últimas semanas o mundo mudou, continua a mudar, e vivemos agora num tempo estranho e desconhecido comandado por uma “besta”. 

Nesta fase é primordial mantermos a calma e termos paciência, e cada um desempenhar a sua função, pois todos nós temos uma a desempenhar!

Profissionais da saúde e forças de segurança, na linha da frente, são os heróis que devemos ajudar e salvaguardar a todo o custo. São insubstituíveis, precisamos deles todos os dias e principalmente agora. Toda a ajuda que lhes possamos prestar será pouca.  Meu obrigado desde já a todos eles!

No nosso caso, somos uns afortunados, pois fazemos parte do grupo que pode trabalhar remotamente com a devida alteração de rotinas e processos, flexibilidade e espírito de missão. É altura de mantermos os níveis de profissionalismo ao máximo, pois é nosso dever, dentro das nossas possibilidades, ajudarmos a manter a economia a funcionar, sob pena de quando esta tempestade tiver passado, estarmos num caos económico que tenha implicações graves a nível global. Não é só por cada um de nós, não é só pelo nosso país, é, sim, pela humanidade.

Os negócios têm que continuar a acontecer, os salários a ser pagos e também os impostos. 

Não queremos regredir ao século XIX! Queremos sim um futuro melhor. Na Present Technologies é nisto que acreditamos e é para isto que trabalhamos todos os dias, rumo ao século XXII.

Calma, paciência, coragem, altruísmo, solidariedade são fundamentais nesta fase, para que o mundo saia desta “tempestade” melhor do que é hoje. Pessoalmente acredito nisso, que as qualidades humanas de cada um de nós sairão reforçadas, que haverá mais solidariedade e menos egoísmo. O Mundo vai mudar, e para melhor. 

Até lá temos todos que desempenhar a nossa função, seguir as recomendações das autoridades, e ajudar dentro das nossas possibilidades.

Present Technologies: 20 Years

At 2:30pm, on March 24th 2000, in Coimbra, Present Technologies was born. Five founders and an ambition as big as the world. What a day!

It has been an amazing journey, full of challenges, some adversities, but above all a lot of victories, conquests, and sustained growth: challenging projects, for different geographies, and all done as they were the most important project in the world – indeed they were and still are! A lot of friendships were forged, ones that have lasted through time and many that are the foundation of partnerships that we proudly maintain.

Tomorrow, March 24th 2020, we will celebrate our 20th anniversary. An important milestone and one for which we had been planning a major event to acknowledge everyone who helped shape Present Technologies and make it what it is today: a reference company, reliable, and a company that takes great care of all its stakeholders, from our employees/collaborators, to our clients/partners and end-users of our solutions. We are Present because we care! 

In the last few weeks the world has changed. It continues to change every day – every hour even – and we now live weird and unknown times, driven by a “beast”.

At this stage, the key is to stay calm and have patience, and it is also important that everyone plays their role, because all of us have a greater role to fulfil.

Healthcare professionals, security forces, all on the front lines, they are the heroes that we need to help and protect at all cost. They are irreplaceable, we need them every day and now more than ever. All the help we can give them will fall short. My heartfelt thank you to all of them for all the great work they do.

At Present Technologies, we are blessed to be part of the group that can work remotely, although with changes in routines, processes, flexibility and spirit of our mission. We’re living in a time where we have to maintain our professionalism levels to the maximum, because it is our duty, within our reach, to help the economy flowing, otherwise after the storm has passed, we’d be in economic chaos which would have severe implications on a global scale. It’s not just for us, not just for our country, but for humanity.

Businesses need to keep going, deals need to continue happening, and paychecks need to be delivered (and taxes too). 

We don’t want to go back to the 19th century! We want a better future. That’s what we believe in at Present Technologies and that’s what we work for every day, to the 22nd century.

Calm, patience, courage, altruism, solidarity are fundamental at this stage so that the world can get out of this storm better than it is today. I personally believe this will happen, and that the human qualities in every one will be reinforced, that there will be more solidarity and less selfishness. The World will change, for the better.

We need to play our role, follow the recommendations from the authorities, and help within our possibilities.

Together we will overcome this and we’ll grow stronger!
